Madison police have arrested a man accused of trying to start a fire to a Madison home.
Madison police arrested Adil Koummal, 28, of Bridgeport, around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.
They said the arrest was made after Koummal allegedly attempted to set fire to an occupied home with a basement apartment at 97 Mungertown Road, Madison.
He has been charged with arson in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and operation of a motor vehicle while registration is suspended.
Police have not determined a motive.
Koummal is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at G.A. 23 today.
