Police have identified the man who died after a boating accident on Candlewood Lake in Brookfield on Sunday afternoon.
EnCon Police responded to Candlewood Lake around 12:30 p.m. after getting a report of a capsized motorboat with two adult men aboard.
Police said 29-year-old Joseph Miranda, of Manchester, swam to the shore and refused medical treatment. A second man, 48-year-old Gary Hayes, of East Hartford, was found in the water and was transported to Danbury Hospital, where he later died.
EnCon Police are investigating the accident.
