A 29-year-old Norwalk man died after a crashing into a guard rail on Route 7 in town on Tuesday night.
Luis M. Contreras was driving southbound in the center lane on Route 7 in his 2000 black Lexus sedan when he swerved to the right and crashed into a metal guardrail on the right shoulder that separates the West Avenue and Interstate 95 ramps, according to state police. The crash happened at 8:17 p.m.
Contreras was ejected when the car spun and hit the guardrail again, police said, and Norwalk EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said the front and rear sides of Contreras' car were damaged. No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.
The cause of the crash is unknown and state police are investigating.
