Man Fires Inside Pharmacy and Jumps Out Drive-Thru: Cops

A man was arrested early this morning, accused of firing a shot into a cabinet inside a CVS in Vernon and escaping through the drive-thru window.

Police said Timothy Christensen Jr., 22, of Vernon, broke into the store around 2 a.m., went straight to the pharmacy and jumped the counter.

The pharmacist came around the corner and startled Christensen, who fired one shot and hit the cabinet behind the person, police said. The pharmacist was shaken up, but not hurt.

Before escaping by jumping through the drive-thru window, Christensen grabbed four bottles of strong prescription narcotics – roxicodone, which is an extended-release Oxycodone, and oxycodone, police said.

Police found Christensen's clothing and the gun behind an autoparts store, nabbed him nearby and found the drugs in his car.

This is the second time this CVS Pharmacy has been robbed in the last month and Christensen is a suspect in a robbery there on Sept. 24.

Police said Christensen would be charged with first-degree robbery and additional charges, included possession of a handgun without a permit.
