Man Harassed Convicted Rapist: Cops

Bryan Oei is charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly taunting the sex offender.

A Trumbull man was arrested after police say he harassed a sex offender living in his neighborhood.

On Wednesday, Bryan Oei, 19, called Joseph Kallay and said he was aware Kallay was on the sex offender registry list, according to police. Kallay, who was convicted of first-degree rape in New York, told police Oei taunted him and referred to him as "Rape-o".

According to police, Oei showed up at Kallay's home later that day, and used his cell phone to take pictures of the convicted sex offender. When Kallay told Oei to leave, Oei asked "What if I don't, are you going to rape me?," according to the police report.

Kallay called police, who found Oei walking down the street a short time later.

Oei was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $500 bond and will be in court March 22.
