Man Poured Boiling Water on Woman: Cops

The victim said she was supposed to hide when police responded.

Police arrested a 44-year-old West Haven man accused of punching his girlfriend in the ribs and pouring boiling water over her exposed skin.

An anonymous caller contacted police on Saturday to report a woman yelling for help from Burl Towles’ apartment.

Police responded and found the victim, who told officers that she and Towles got into a verbal argument, then he punched her in her face several times, kicked her in her ribs, boiled water and poured it on her exposed skin several times.

“I was told to hide when you came to the door,” the victim told police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

Towles was charged with assault in the second degree, threatening second degree and disorderly conduct.

Bond was set at $400,000 and Towles is due in court on Monday.
