Bristol Police Offer Reward in Bank Robbery Investigation

Bristol police are offering a reward for anyone who provides information that leads to a bank robber's arrest.

A masked man brandishing a gun demanded money stole an undetermined amount of cash from the Webster Bank at 797 Pine Street at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, police said. The money, marked with red dye caps, exploded and may have stained the suspect and the stolen cash, according to police.

He ran from the scene and police are still looking for him.

Police said he was wearing black clothes, a black knit mask, a black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt and a black overcoat and had a height between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-2. He had an Eastern European accent.

No one was injured.

Police ask anyone who sees a man who has red dye on him or any cash stained with red to call the nearest police department. Bristol police request that members of the public contact Det. Peter Dauphinais at 860-314-4566 to report information about the robbery.
