Man Shot in Legs While Crossing Street: Hamden Police

A 43-year-old man is in the hospital being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after a shooting that happened while he was crossing a street in Hamden early Sunday morning, police said.

Police are looking for at least three people who they think fired gunshots.

Hamden police responded to the area of Morse and Columbus streets on Sept. 6 at 3 a.m. to investigate reports of a shooting. The 43-year-old man, whose identity hasn't been released, was crossing Morse Street when gunfire erupted and he was struck twice in the legs.

A civilian transported the man to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds in his legs.

His condition is unknown, but he is expected to recover.

Police are looking into whether there were any other victims in the shooting.
