Man Shot in Meriden

Police are investigating the shooting of a 29-year-old man in Meriden.

Officers arrived at the intersection of Springdale Avenue and Botsford Street around 1 p.m. Monday to find the man lying on the sidewalk. He had been shot once in the groin and was treated at the scene, then taken to a local hospital, police said.

The man's condition is unknown but police said his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. He has been cooperating with police.

Police said they received a 911 call just prior to the shooting reporting a man waving a gun in the area. Authorities are investigating to determine whether the incidents are related.
