The manager of the Smoker's Stop, at 129 Barbour St. in the North End of Hartford, was shot around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday and officials said the person has died.
Masked men walked into the store and pulled the victim out and around the corner, sources said.
The Associated Press reports that an employee, believed to be the shooting victim, was on the phone with his wife when the shooting happened and she called police.
Sources said they believe the victim had a wife and girlfriend in the United States and another wife in Pakistan.
The victim was taken to Saint Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
An SUV and a white car were towed from the scene. Police recovered a gun near the scene and are investigating whether it was the murder weapon.
