Manchester Officers Help Rescue Man Who Overdosed

Two Manchester police officers ran a mile, weighed down in full gear, to save a 25-year-old man who overdosed on heroin.

Dispatchers learned around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday that a woman was performing CPR in a man on a trail in the woods behind the old Kmart on Spencer Street, police said.

Officer Jerrad Johnson and Officer Aaron Bubans responded and ran around a mile into the woods until they found the woman and the man on a bird watching platform along the river.

Officers Bubans and Johnson took over with CPR and the man then started breathing on his own.

The Manchester Fire Department also responded and provided additional medical aid. Officials said the man made a full recovery.
