Manchester Police Officer Struck by Car

A Manchester police officer is in the hospital after been struck by a car Saturday night. 

Police said the officer was conducting a traffic stop around 8:00 p.m. on Main Street when he was hit by a car near the intersection of Wells Street. 

The officer was taken to Hartford Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

There were no other details on the extent of his injuries, authorities said.

Officials said the driver of the car that hit the officer stopped and the is cooperating. Speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The road was closed in the area while investigators processed the scene.
