Hikers thought they stumbled upon a grisly scene Saturday night when they found what they thought was a body at West Rock State Park in New Haven.
It was off a cliff, in a dangerous location, and police were not able to get to the site until Sunday morning.
When a specialized ropes team repelled down the cliff to investigate, they discovered it was not a body, at least not one that had ever been alive. It was actually a mannequin, state police said Sunday.
