Charter Oak Health Center will not lose Medicare and Medicaid payments after a recent scandal over how it handled a tuberculosis case when a patient diagnosed with the disease died in December, according to the Hartford Courant.
The Hartford facility was expected to lose Medicare and Medicaid payments by Friday if officials did not correct problems with infection control.
The Courant reports that the health center has made improvements that federal agencies find acceptable, but still must correct some “deficiencies” within a couple of months.
