Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $363 Million

Pick a one-time lump sum or about $14 million per year.

No one has won big on Mega Millions since Jan. 27, and that means that some lucky person, or group of people, could win $363 million tonight.

All you need to do are pick the right six numbers and the odds of that are one in 176 million.

You can pick a one-time lump sum or the annuity option. Federal taxes are 25 percent and the state would collect 6.7 percent.

The cash payment would be $359.8 million.

If you win and pick the annuity option, you will get 26 annual payments. For each $1 million in the jackpot, you will get $38,500 per year before taxes. For a $363 million jackpot, that would be about $14 million per year before taxes.

This is the record for a cash jackpot, which the Connecticut lottery attributes to low interest rates. This is the third highest Mega Millions jackpot for annuity payments and the fourth largest U.S. jackpot.

Tickets are sold in 43 states, including Connecticut.

The drawings are at 11 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesdays and Fridays. You can buy tickets until 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time in Connecticut.
