Fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire that displaced a Meriden family of four overnight.
Flames tore through the house on 518 Preston St. just before midnight and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames rather quickly, but the fire caused some significant damage to the home.
The family inside managed to escape unharmed.
The fire chief said the fire might have started on the porch in the back of the home.
