Meriden Man in Critical Condition After Crash

    A 911 address mix-up may possibly be to blame for the death of six-year-old Ian Uro. Uro was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. when he was taken to the emergency room of the Beth Israel Medical Center.

    A 71-year-old Meriden man is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup on Wednesday morning.

    Joseph Gagne was walking on Hall Avenue at 6:05 a.m. when he was struck by a 2006 Dodge pickup driven by a 33-year-old Meriden man, police said.

    Gagne was taken to Hartford Hospital with serious head injuries and is listed in critical condition.

    The driver of the pickup and his passenger were not hurt.

    Meriden police are investigating and ask witnesses to call Meriden police at 630-6210.
