Flood Middle School in Stratford dismissed students at 11:30 a.m., after a threatening note found was found in the school.
Dismissal was scheduled for 1 p.m. for a professional development day, but school officials decided to let students out early.
Police searched the school and determined that the threat was not credible.
The school was not evacuated or locked down and no one was injured.
School officials said they expect there to be school on Friday.
The note was found around 10a.m., police said.
