Sex Offender Captured After Walking Away From CVH

A convicted sex offender who walked away from Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown more than a week ago was taken into custody on Tuesday.

David Lane, 38, left CVH on May 23, according to police. He is a sex offender with a history of violent behavior, police said. Lane was committed to CVH by court order, but police did not say why.

He was found in Stamford on Tuesday, taken into custody and returned to CVH, according to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).

A spokesperson for DMHAS said the agency will review Lane's unauthorized leave and determine if any policy changes are needed.
