When the Middletown board of education meets on Tuesday night, Supt. Michael Frechette is expected to outline improvements made at Farm Hill Elementary School amid the controversy over the so-called "scream room."
School officials have banned the use of the rooms, also called “time-out rooms,” unless parents give permission to use them, but parents are asking the schools to make more improvements, especially for children with special needs.
One mother of a child with special needs has started a petition to remove three administrators from their posts.
School officials said law dictates that the superintendent is the only one who can terminate positions.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at city hall.
