Moose Turns Up in Plainville

The moose was tranquilized and moved to the Northwest Hills.

A moose was tranquilized after turning up in a neighborhood in Plainville Tuesday morning.

The moose was spotted roaming through backyards on Maple Street around 9 a.m., according to police.

Police tracked the moose until animal control from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection arrived. The DEEP officers then shot the animal with tranquilizers.

DEEP officers removed the moose and relocated it to an area in the Northwest Hills.
