Motor Scooter Driver Seriously Hurt in Bristol Crash

A motor scooter driver was seriously hurt when he crashed in Bristol on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the man, who has not yet been identified, suffered a head injury and was found unresponsive at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and East Street around 3:15 p.m.

He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford.

Police said they believe the man was traveling eastbound on Riverside Avenue and veered off the side of the road near East Street, crashing in a parking lot.

Traffic officers from the police department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating.
