A motorcycle driver was seriously injured after colliding with an SUV in Litchfield on Monday night, police said.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. just outside the Village Wine Cellar at 189 West Street, Route 202, according to police.
LifeStar was called to the scene and the motorcyclist, Gary Randall, 62, of Harwinton, was airlifted to the hospital. Police said his injuries were serious and potentially life threatening.
The other driver, Kenneth Nolan, 62, of Morris, was not injured, police said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
Road closures and detours were in effect throughout the evening.
The investigation is ongoing.
