More than 500 people packed the Messiah Baptist Church in Bridgeport Friday to say goodbye to a murdered 14-year-old.
Justin Thompson was shot and killed early Sunday.
“It was a beautiful, glorious service, and the people that love him were there, much support. He was going to missed. I'm going to miss him,” said Desire Rodriguez, a friend of the family.
Thompson was killed Sunday on Seaview Avenue in Bridgeport. He was walking home with friends when two men approached their group and opened fire, according to police. Thompson was shot in the head and later died at Bridgeport Hospital.
“This is just not fair. I'm not trying to question God, but this is just not fair,” said Rodriguez.
But friends and family are trying to hold onto the good times and the fond memories they have of Thompson.
“We will miss him so much. His infectious smile, his beautiful eyes. It's obvious. The service itself is indicative of who he was,” said Tanya Raheem, Thompson’s cousin.
