Parade Day In New Haven

The St. Patrick's Day parade was expected to draw more than 250,000 spectators this year.

Hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets on Sunday for New Haven's 56th annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

According to the parade's website, it is the largest single-day spectator event in the state and the 6th oldest parade in the nation.

More than 250,000 spectators were expected to line the streets of the Elm City.

The parade kicked off at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday from Sherman Avenue and Chapel Street.
