New Britain police have arrested a suspect in the slaying of a Southington man in 2004.
Rudy Hannon, 72, was extradited Tuesday from Indian Springs, Nevada to New Britain, and has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 71-year-old Paul Sweetman, of Southington, in July 2004, according to police.
Police said the court has sealed the case.
Detectives from the New Britain Police Department worked extensively on the case, with help from Connecticut State Police, the Southington Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Connecticut Forensic Science Lab and the States Attorney’s Office, according to police.
Hannon was held on a $2 million bond.
