New London police arrested the suspect in a string of recent car burglaries on Monday.
Joseph Allen, 19, of 9 Wausau Place, New Lonon, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. Monday after police received a report of two men breaking into a car in the area of Riverview Avenue.
Allen was stopped on Ocean Avenue, two blocks away from the reported break-in. He was found in ossession electronic devices that had been stolen from a different car, police said.
Allen gave officers a false name and was also found in possession of synthetic marijuana, according to police.
He was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer, possessio nof hallucinogens third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
Police said Allen is a suspect in several other recent car burglaries and that warrants are being prepared.
They have identified a second suspect and continue to investigate.

The arrest comes after a rash of recent car break-ins were reported in several towns, including New London, Vernon, Naugatuck and the greater Waterbury area.
