A 19-year-old is facing assault charges after stabbing another person multiple times at a home in New London late last month, according to police.
Police said Myesha Smith-Reyes, of Pearl Street in New London, stabbed the victim during an early morning fight Nov. 27. The other person suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed into emergency surgery at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
Smith-Reyes was also hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries.
She was arrested Thursday with the help of Waterford police and charged with first-degree assault. Smith-Reyes is being held on $75,000 bond.
