Newtown Man Charged With Child Porn Possession

Police searched Edward Wilson’s house and arrested him on Friday.

State police have charged a 28-year-old Newtown man with possession of child pornography after searching his house on Friday.

In February, state police received reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone appeared to be emailing files of suspected child pornography and police tracked the Internet activity to Edward Wilson’s house on Hillcrest Road in Newtown, police said.

On April 13, state police searched the house and seized more than 300 image files they believe include child pornography, according to a news release from state police.

Wilson was arrested and brought to Troop A in Southbury, where he was processed and charged with possession of child pornography in the first degree, promoting a minor in an obscene performance and obscenity.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and was scheduled to appear at GA 3 Danbury Superior Court on April 13.
