Night of Fishing Turns Deadly

The body of a man reported missing in a Watertown pond has been found.

Jay Frantzis, 33, of Watertown, was pulled from Merriam Pond at Crest Brook Country Club Saturday morning.

Frantzis, and two other men were fishing on the pond Friday night when their canoe capsized, according to the Department of Environmental Protection. The two men made it to shore, but Frantzis did not.
