Woman Accused of Stabbing Father of Her Child

Police have arrested a Bridgeport woman who is accused of stabbing the father of her child in Norwalk.

Police said they responded to a home on Suncrest Road just after 5 p.m. on Sunday and found a man with several stab wounds.

The victim said Jayde Williams, 21, of Bridgeport, showed up at his Norwalk home and they began arguing. At one point, the argument escalated to the point where Williams grabbed a knife and started stabbing him, police said.

The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital to be treated and his injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Norwalk detectives took over the investigation and determined that Williams was suspected of causing a disturbance at another home on Suncrest Road before the stabbing and threw an item, which broke glass and struck a small child.

The child was not injured and is not related to Williams or the stabbing victim, police said.

Williams turned herself in at the Norwalk Police Department and was charged with second-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

Bond was set at $10,000 and she is due in court on July 5.
