A 29-year-old Norwalk man who was stabbed in his apartment early Thursday has died and police said they have a warrant charging a suspect with murder.

Police received a 911 call just before 1 a.m. Thursday reporting a stabbing on Fairfield Avenue and found 29-year-old Michael Moody. An ambulance transported him to the Norwalk Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified Sheldon Frierson as a person interest in Moody’s death and arrested him at the scene and charged him with a violation of a protective order issued for another person who was at the scene, police said.

On Friday, obtained an arrest warrant that charges Frierson with the murder of Michael Moody, police said.

Frierson is in custody and police said detectives are working with the State’s Attorney’s Office to serve the warrant at a future court date.
