A Stamford Police officer was arrested by his own department Wednesday morning.
Officer Paul Mabey is accused of showing a cell phone picture of his genitals to a woman during a traffic stop, the Connecticut Post reported.
Mabey, a 14-year veteran of the department, was suspended Friday after allegations of the incident surfaced, according to the paper.
A 26-year-old woman sent a letter to Stamford Police Chief Robert Nivakoff alleging Mabey pulled her over last week, made several passes at her, and then showed her the picture of his genitals, the Post reported. The paper reported police seized Mabey's cell phone and found the picture on it.
Mabey was charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
