    Fatal Hartford Shooting Victim Identified

    One man is dead and a female is in the hospital after a shooting in Hartford early Sunday morning.

    Melvin Perry, 30, of 24 Clinton Street in Manchester, was killed after being shot multiple times on Durham Street. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

    The 34-year-old woman Perry was with was shot twice and survived. She was transported to St. Francis hospital for treatment of her injuries.

    She is suffering from non-life threatening gun shot wounds and was alert and conscious on the scene, according to police.

    It's Hartford's 18th homicide of the year.

    According to police, 911 calls came pouring in around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning to report shots fired in the area of 16 Durham Street.

    Police have not publicly identified a suspect and are still searching for the person responsible.
