One Dead in Sharon Home Invasion

State Police are investigating a home invasion that has left one male dead.

State Police are investigating a home invasion in Sharon on Monday night that left a 23-year-old man dead.

Police are calling the fatal home invasion an "isolated incident" and said they are following "significant leads."

State Police from Troop B responded to 399 Cornwall Bridge Road just after 6 p.m. to reports of a home invasion with shots fired, according to state police Lt. J. Paul Vance.

At the single-family home located well off the road in a rural section of the town, troopers found Lucas Vitalis dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to police.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman, who troopers said had been tied up, was not injured. Police have not released information on the relationship between the two victims.

The State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives are investigating and they are looking for two men who both have facial hair.

One was wearing a black T-shirt and light-colored pants.

State police have also reached out to New York State Police and other local communities because of the proximity to the state line.

No description of the vehicle used is available.

A Facebook page was set up in Vitalis' memory.
