One Hurt in Norwich Fire

One person was injured in a fire at 206 Dudley Street in Norwich early Friday morning.

Officials received a call at 4:10 a.m. reporting people trapped, but everyone was out when firefighters arrived.

One male was rushed to the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital, fire officials said. The extent of his injuries are not known.

Fire Chief Keith Milton said this was a difficult fire to put out because the structure is an old farm-style house.

It was converted into three or four apartments, is compartmentalized and there are void spaces, officials said.

The American Red Cross is helping three adults and one child affected to be fire.
