A 28-year-old Southington man was killed in a two-car crash on West Street in Southington Thursday morning. A 55-year-old Burlington man was hurt and taken to Bristol Hospital.
Jared Treiber was killed after crossing into the southbound lane and hit a van driven by Timothy Brunet, 55, of Burlington, police said. Brunet was taken to Bristol Hospital for treatment, police said.
West Street, also called Route 229, was closed between Birch and West Queen streets for hours and reopened just after 1 p.m.
