A driver can count his lucky stars ... after he's done blaming them for destroying his car.
The man must have gotten the shock of his life as he drove on Route 72 East in Plainville Saturday. A tree suddenly dropped on top of the roof of the car!
The driver managed to come safely to a stop on the section of roadway before I-84. He had minor injuries, State Police say.
The car isn't so lucky. The top is caved in where the tree hit.
A second vehicle, a Sebring, was also struck by the tree and has windshield damage.
The scene created a traffic backup along Route 72 for a couple hours Saturday evening.
There's no word yet on what caused the tree to topple.
