Parents of Teen Killed in Milford Crash Settle Suits: Report

The settlement is for $2.5 million.

The parents of a 19-year-old man who died when a Milford police cruiser going more than 90 mph crashed into his car have settled state and federal lawsuits against the town for $2.5 million, the Associated press reports.

Frank and Susan Servin, of Orange, accepted the settlements during a probate court hearing on Tuesday.

Their son, David Servin, and his girlfriend, Ashlie Krakowski, 19, of Orange, were killed when Milford Officer Jason Anderson smashed into their car on Route 1 in Orange in June 2009. Police say Anderson was returning from a mutual aid call and didn't have his emergency lights or siren on at the time. Anderson was later fired and awaits trial on manslaughter charges.

Krakowski's parents also filed lawsuits against the town that remain pending.
