The late Paul Newman is the latest Connecticut native to be inducted into the Connecticut Hall of Fame.
An induction ceremony was held for the legendary actor and humanitarian Thursday at the Legislative Office Building at the state Capitol in Hartford.
The co-chairs for the Connecticut Hall of Fame Committee and the President and CEO of the Newman's Own Foundation, Robert Forrester, attended.
Newman died of cancer in September 2008 in his Wesport home. He was 83 years old.
He acted in 65 movies over 50 years and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "The Color of Money."
He created his own brand, Newman's Own, in the 1980s and the organic food company went on to make millions in profits.
He used the money to help the community, establishing Hole in the Wall Gang camps to help children with cancer and other illnesses.
