A 55-year-old Norwich woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car on Thursday afternoon.
Kathleen Maynard was walking south on Harland Road, Route 169, near Harland Heights at 2:15 p.m. when she was struck by a Ford Taurus, operated by Stephanie Hlastava, 58, of Lisbon, according to police.
A crew from American Ambulance transported Maynard to William Backus Hospital, then Life Star medical transport helicopter airlifted her to Hartford Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.
Hlastava was not injured, according to police, and the investigation is ongoing.
