Woman Struck, Killed By Train in Newington

    A 911 address mix-up may possibly be to blame for the death of six-year-old Ian Uro. Uro was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. when he was taken to the emergency room of the Beth Israel Medical Center.

    A train struck and killed a woman who was on foot at Willard and Francis avenues in Newington on Friday morning, police said.

    The woman was struck around 7 a.m.

    WTIC 1080 AM  radio reports that the train is an Amtrak train that was carrying more than 100 passengers from Springfield to Washington and that no crew or passengers were injured.  

    Newington and Amtrak Police are investigating the accident.

    They're asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information to call Newington Police.
