A man who was hit by an evading vehicle in West Haven on Sunday has died.
Police said officers were dispatched after a vehicle hit a pedestrian with injuries on Derby Avenue near Forest Road around 6:40 a.m.
Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling east on Derby Avenue when it hit the man.
The injured man was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and was later pronounced dead, police said.
The West Haven Police Department's Major Accident Squad was called in to investigate the crash.

Police have not released the identity of the man who died.
