A 56-year-old Meriden woman who was hit by a car on Interstate 91 North in Wallingford Wednesday night has died, according to state police.
The pedestrian, Sharon Ryan, of Meriden, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash near exit 13 around 9:40 p.m. and she was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to Connecticut State Police.
Ryan was trying to cross all three lanes of the highway when she was hit, according to state police. It is not clear why she was on the highway.
