Police Arrest Suspected Prostitutes and Pimp

The women's manager had an infant child with him, police said.

Stratford police arrested two alleged prostitutes during an undercover operation at the Stratford Conference Center last week.

They also arrested the suspected manager, who they found in the room with one of the women’s infant children.

The operation started after an undercover detective responded to an online post that offered the two accused women for a fee of $350, police said.

After contacting the women, the man went to the room at 225 Lordship Boulevard, where they were scheduled to meet, police said.

There, the detective and other police found the two women pictured in the ad as well as their “manager,” who was in the room with one of the women’s infant children.

Police said they also found evidence of recent drug use and some marijuana in the room.

Police identified the women as Candice Janton, 20, of Dayville Connecticut, and Kayla Walters, 21, of Garrison, Kentucky.

The man in the room was identified as Edward Thomas, 38, of New York, New York.

Thomas was charged with promoting prostitution, risk of injury to a minor, as well as possession of marijuana.  He was given a court date of 10-24-2013 and held on a $50,000 bond.

Janton was charged with prostitution, risk of injury to a minor and possession of marijuana.  She was given a court date of Oct. 24 and held on a $5,000 bond.

Walters was charged with prostitution, risk of injury to a minor and possession of marijuana.  She was given a court date of Oct. 24 and held on a $5,000 bond.
