Police: CT Man Drives 11 Miles Wrong Way on Mass Pike

An 88-year-old Staffordville, Connecticut man who drove the wrong way on the Massachusetts Turnpike for about 11 miles was not cited but may lose his license.

Massachusetts State Police said they received several calls about a wrong-way driver on the highway at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Thaddeus Satkowski got on the highway in Auburn and drove east in the westbound lanes, in the shoulder next to the high-speed lane, for about 11 miles, before he was stooped in Grafton, police said.

The Telegram & Gazette reports
that a trooper drove east parallel to the wrong-way driver until he was able to get his attention.

Satkowski was not cited, but state police have contacted the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles to have his license revoked, police said.
