Police Search for Armed Robbery Suspects

Police released a surveillance picture of one of the suspects. They're hoping someone will recognize him.

Police in five towns are searching for three suspects wanted in a string of recent armed robberies.

On Friday, Hartford police released a picture of one of the men that was captured by a surveillance camera inside the China House restaurant on Franklin Avenue earlier this month.

They're hoping someone will recognize him.

The man entered the store back on September 18th, looked at the menu, and then left, according to Sin Sit, the store's manager.

Soon after that happened, two masked men entered the store armed with a shotgun and demanded cash, he said.

"They come inside with a shotgun. They say, 'Don't move,'" according to Sit, who ended up with a shotgun pointed at his head.

The men ripped the money drawer right out of the cash register and then ran out of the restaurant, said Sit.

Hartford police say it's not the only time the group has struck.

They're also working with police in East Hartford, Newington, Bloomfield, and Burlington where similar crimes have happened.

In each case, the hold-ups have happened at small restaurants or convenience stores, there have been two or three suspects armed with a shotgun, and each time they've taken off with the cash register drawer, according to police.

Workers at the China House are hoping police catch the suspects before they strike again.

"We're lucky. Nobody hurt here," said Sit.
