Police Investigate After Finding Car Submerged in Stream

A body was found 35 feet downstream from the vehicle.

Bloomfield Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a fatal accident.
 
Just before 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to Tariffville Road south of Hoskins Road after receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident.
 
Upon arrival, police discovered an overturned 2002 Infiniti sedan on its roof partially submerged in a stream of water off the roadway.
 
About 35 feet downstream from the vehicle, police discovered the body of an African American male. The man was transported to Saint Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
The victim has been identified as Vincent Shorter, 28, of New Britain.
