Police Investigate New Britain Home Invasion

New Britain police are investigating a home invasion at an apartment building on Willow Street.

One of the victims said he was in his first-floor apartment at 75 Willow Street, watching television with his girlfriend and a friend, when a man kicked in the kitchen window around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

When the victim went around the corner to go into the kitchen, a man dressed in black and wearing a ski mask pointed a gun in his face, he said.

The victim’s biggest concern was his girlfriend’s 3 year-old daughter, who was sleeping in her bedroom, and he fought off the intruder, who ran out the back door.

“He said, ‘Put your hands in the air,’ and I punched him in the face. We got in a little tussle and my friend ran out the door. My girl ran into the room where her daughter (was sleeping.) My friend ran out the back door, so after that, he got away. He ran out through the back door,” said the victim, who did not want his name to be published.

New Britain police said another wearing man who seen outside could also have been involved. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

No arrests have been made.
