Police are investigating the death of a patient at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London on Monday night.
Police responded to the hospital at 10:01 p.m. after a 64-year-old New London man was found unresponsive in his room and medical staff pronounced him dead.
Hospital officials said the patient died of self-induced asphyxiation.
The chief medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
